ELENA AMATO's HOME
I am an astrophysicist working at Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, which is part of INAF, the Italian National Institute for Astrophysical research.
I am also a professor at the University of Florence, in the Physics and Astronomy Department.
My research interests are mainly in the field of theoretical High Energy Astrophysics.
My favourite subjects are the dynamics and emission properties of relativistic plasmas and the astrophysical mechanisms of particle acceleration. I wonder about the origin of Cosmic Rays and my favourite astrophysical objects are Pulsar Wind Nebulae and Supernova Remnants.
